POVERTY! PESSIMISM! PEACE!
I had a mock exam for sociology today and one of the questions was based on poverty. Although i didnt awnser what the question was asking me to i used the opportunity to express my opinions on the issue. I had to ask for an extra 2 sheets of paper as i had deep feelings towards the subject. Whilst there is poverty on earth there will never be peace. When people are living in terrible conditons and dont even have access to clean water they do drastic things, especially people with children. In places like Africa where countries like Sudan and Chad are fighting eachother over small peices of land which contain water because they live in such poor conditions. But there is places here in the south east where a so called drought is taking place but whenever i walk down the road i cant help but see people washing there ford focus's.

It drives me crazy when people tell me that poverty is not our problem, it flippin well is. Those people are pessimists. Poverty is not one countries problem but mankinds problem. Global warming aint one countries problem its mankinds. If we are ever going to have peace on earth then we need to need to tackle the issues that cause hatred and anger towards certain groups of people. A child dies every 3 seconds, not because of an illness, not because of being knocked down by a car. But because of poverty. We need to unite against the rich
bureaucratic minority and overcome the enormous rich and poor divide in our society. MAKE POVERTY HISTORY! MAKE PEACE EVERLASTING!

Rock On! (fist punches air...music begins) All we are saying is 'Give Peace a Chance'...and poverty the 'two fingers'...hey that would work - one side peace the other side what we say to poverty ...perhaps one for the graffiti...

As Marting Luther King said, 'It is a tragic mix-up when the United States spends $500,000 for every enemy soldier killed, and only $53 annually on the victims of poverty.'

And Aristotle...'The mother of revolution and crime is poverty'

So looks like a couple of these guys might agree with you somewhat...
