Had a P.E detention after school today. Making us sit on the floor and put medals together i moaned all the way through it. "This is breaching our human rights, this is child labour, i will have no option but to inform my lawyer about this" (i don't have a lawyer, but he don't know that). Sitting on the floor pressing the medal onto the ribbon, i couldn't help but think about the millions of children in 3rd world countries who are stitching footballs, trainers and t-shirts together for us. Millions of children are unable to go to school because they need to work in order to survive. They have to work for a few pence a day, money that we are happy to chuck on the floor because we don't want our pockets filled with change.

How can we live our normal lives while millions of children are being forced to work at the age of 10. How can we proceed to be ignorant about our 'wants' while children working to survive can't even afford basic needs. Poverty is man made, it is not a natural process of life. Save the children.

You're in good company Thomas, Mr Luther King once said:

'The time has come for an all-out world war against poverty. The rich nations must use their vast resources of wealth to develop the underdeveloped, school the unschooled, and feed he unfed. Ultimately a great nation is a compassionate nation. No individual or nation can be great if it does not have a concern for 'the least of these.' Deeply etched in the fibre of our religious tradition is the conviction that men and women are made in the image of God and that they are souls of infinite metaphysical value, the heirs of a legacy of dignity and worth. If we feel this as a profound moral fact, we cannot be content to see people hungry or victimized with starvation and ill health when we have the means to help them. The wealthy nations must go all out to bridge the gulf between the rich minority and the poor majority.'

He had other dremas as well, but I wouldn't seeing this one become real.
